THE HIDDEN GROVE A forest landscape I originally painted as a commission for a professional One Piece card game player. Requested my busy green landscapes with subtly showing One Piece. So I wanted to paint the kind of forest I always find myself wanting to disappear into, full of layers of foliage and all the little details that make you feel like there is always more hiding behind what you can see. Luffy’s red hat and Chopper’s hat sit in the foliage, almost as if they’ve wandered off somewhere together and decided to take a break from everything. I love the idea of taking characters from a world so full of movement, adventure and chaos and letting them exist somewhere like this instead. Just surrounded by trees, sunlight and nowhere they need to be.
