THE GREEN CATHEDRAL Where all pain becomes ephemeral. I painted every leaf in this forest one by one, as a meditation and a testament to how patient I can be with my own time alone. Solitude has become one of my most intimate experiences. Loneliness has gifted me to myself. As a second gen brown woman, I have often felt the aggressive expectation of marriage and companionship. But I have come to understand that I can also rejoice in my freedom. I can be alone and still feel deeply adored by my own life. I have learned so much about my own nature in solitude. Hence the forest. And my nature is art. Hence the graffiti. The Green Cathedral is an amalgamation of my love for graffiti, forests, softness, moss, moodiness, stillness, solitude, and art as a whole. It is a place where all of these things can exist together, without asking one another to be anything else.
